Herbal Remedies for Diarrhea

Diarrhea is one of those taboo afflictions, we all get it but no one wants to talk about it. The majority of people will discuss any issue they have until the subject of diarrhea comes up, and then we’re all hush-hush like we’ve never had it.

If you get a bout with diarrhea you should drink plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration. Dehydration is the main risk associated with diarrhea.

There are three natural ingredients that can help with common diarrhea; tannins, pectin, and mucilage.

Tannins, like in tea, help bind or contract tissues reducing inflammation. They bind to the protein layer in the mucous membranes causing them to become thicker. This helps slow the resorption of toxins.
Pectin is a soluble fiber and adds bulk to the stool.
Mucilage also adds bulk by absorbing water and swelling up.
