Little known facts
Celery or apium graveolens is a plant species in the Apiaceae family. The plant yields two important vegetables; celery and celeriac. The celery plant can grow up to 1 m. tall. The leaves are pinnate to bipinnate leaves with rhombic leaflets, measuring 3 to 6 centimeters long and 2 to 4 cm. broad. Celery flowers are commonly creamy-white and 2 to 3 millimeters in diameter.
Celery contains androsterone. This is a hormone released through sweat glands that is said to attract women.
Celery is possibly one of the few foods that has "negative calories." This could be due to the fact that the human digestion burns more calories than can be extracted from this vegetable.
